Day 2: After the Tour

After being shown the house, I decided that I want to paint my little, ugly, pastel yellow nightstand. Shaula offered to help and also volunteered Jakken - since he hasn't gone to the lab yet.
Between the three of us we easily get the nightstand down to the shop, and we discussed what I should do with it.

I finally decided that I wanted it to be splattered. So we each grabbed a color: Jakken had 'firetruck red', Shaula had 'bubbly blue', and I had 'mint-green.' We put on full-coverage paint suits, and took the nightstand into the backyard and had fun, flinging the paint from the brushes onto the nightstand. I love the result!
It's now drying, so we are having popsicles on the back porch. Jakken will have to go to the lab pretty soon, but Shaula and I can definitely carry the nightstand back up by ourselves.

I asked about The Star's Cry, what kind of ship she is, and what color, and why she was named that. But Shaula just said to wait for tomorrow and see for myself. I'm glad the wait isn't too much longer.

We went back into the shop and Jakken and Shaula showed me their shop-lockers, and their current projects. Shaula is making a birdcage in the shape of a hot-air balloon. And Jakken is working on 3-foot tall stilts. They said I can also build anything I like. I really want to, but I don't know what.

[Sorry this entry is so short. Tuesday snuck up on me, with nothing to show for it. Hopefully, there will be a longer on next week.]

Day 2: Meeting More People

I slept very well in my new room. And the weather today is delightful. Overcast sky, with a gentle cold breeze. The sun has barely shown it's face over the horizon. I know because I went out to the balcony of the greenhouse room, which is next to mine on the actual corner of the house (whereas, my room is where the corner originally was.) I am headed down stairs to get breakfast. I do not know if Uncle is still here or if he left for work already. The hallway and stairs are lit by very old-fashioned (Victorian era, I think) wall lamps. They are dimmer than I remember from yesterday.  The stairs are carpeted, with a very lush black carpet, which does make navigating them in the dim light difficult.

I realized just now, that I had said that the mansion was massive, and that my room is on the top floor but I didn't say how many floors it has. Well. I just went down one flight of stairs, and I still have two to go, to reach the ground level. I could have taken the elevator, but I don't know how loud it might be.

I have reached the ground floor. And now to see if I can remember the way to the kitchen.

I just had a very interesting encounter. I was walking into the kitchen, and I was pulling a bowl out of the cabinet, and when I turned around, there was a boy. He looked just as shocked to see me, and we just stared at each other for a moment. Before awkwardly saying nothing, and continuing to get our breakfast. It is clear that he doesn't know who I am, and I certainly don't know him. We are now awkwardly sitting at the table, one seat off from being across from each other. Both eating cereal. He has fruity loopys, and I have chocolate puffs.

His hair is thick, wavy, and short-ish, and a dark red that is almost burgundy. His eyes are grey. He looks to be around my age.

"Well, you could serve the awkward tension in here with tea and sandwiches." Shaula announces her presence.

The boy and I both look down at our laps, which makes Shaula chuckle.

Then another person enters behind her. A tall, pale, young man with short black hair and black eyes, and a "chiseled" jawline. He frowns, "Who's that?" He says looking at me.

"That's Luna. Your cousin."Shaula rolls her eyes. "Do you never listen when dad informs us of visitors."

I realize that this rather rude young man must be my cousin Antares.

Antares says nothing, looks me up and down, and then leaves. Shaula sits down next to me, "Don't worry about him, he's always like that. I see you've met Timothy." She gestures to the red-head.

"Well..." I begin,

"You both were too awkward to say anything?" Shaula fills in the blanks.

Timothy and I nod our heads in the positive.

[Later]

Shaula explained that Timothy is a friend of hers that is an intern that works under Uncle Scorpius, and sometimes stays with them. I saw Uncle and Timothy leave for work. And then Shaula gave me a tour of the house. This is what she told me:

"The original house was built as a Victorian hotel for parties and vacations, but business didn't do well, so it was put on the market, it sat there for a couple years, until Dad's great-uncle - also your great-great-uncle - Alfred, bought it and began the "upgrades" as he called them, he left the look of everything the same, but made it modern in how it works. The he passed it on to his nephew Connan (dad's uncle, your great-uncle). Who added most of the modern areas to the house. And then when Connan got married, he passed the house to dad. Who has lived here ever since."

Day 1: What's next

Well, today was pretty uneventful. After eating, Uncle went back to work, and I went back to my room and napped - which was rather un-heroine-like... but I don't care. I was tired, and the bed was comfy. But now I'm hungry again. Uncle said to make myself at home, and eat whenever, so I'm going to go down to the kitchen.

[later]

That was fun! I met Shuala! When I went downstairs, she was in the kitchen getting food for herself, We had an awkward first few moments, just staring at each other, then she said "Oh! You must be Luna. I'm Shuala. Dad said you'd be coming today but didn't say when."

I said something in return, I don't remember what. Then she helped me grab some grub. We ate together and I learned that she wants to be a scientist as well, she thinks she wants to specialize in outer-space weaponry.

Her hair is lime and bubblegum and was pulled back in a messy ponytail, and she has long bangs that are parted in the middle.

She also informed me that Uncle has miscellaneous furniture stashed in a shed out back, and that if I want any of it, I just have to get it to my room. She suggested calling on Jakken to help with it - which I probably will if I find something. I think I'll go down now and look.

[later]

I found an un-painted wooden dresser and a big, black, desk with drawers and other compartments. And I also choose an ugly, yellow, nightstand that just has so much character and potential.
With Jakken's help I got them to my room. I'll decide about painting them later.

I did some research on Jakken, and found out very little, he lives with my uncle, works for my uncle, he has a very small social media presence - at least, under his own name - he likes horses, and studied marine biology, apparently he has designed some prosthetics, and likes to read. I think if I asked him about himself he would readily tell me... but... I don't know, maybe later.

Day 1: Uncle's Mansion

Uncle Scorpius has a power outlet in his car, which means I am able to charge my notepad! Which in turn means that I can write another entry.
I'm riding shotgun! I wonder where that phrase came from? Perhaps I can find out, while on my travels.
Jakken is riding with us as well... I don't really know why.
We are outside the city now, on a small road that appears to go to nowhere - which is my favorite kind of road - so many possibilities for adventure!

[later]

We've been driving for almost 20 minutes. I was right about there not being much out here, but we have passed horses and cows grazing. Not much in the way of talking has happened either, just Uncle asking after the health of my family and I doing likewise of his. Jakken and I were officially introduced. Apparently he is the son of someone Uncle used to work with, and he - Jakken - now lives with Uncle, so I guess I'll be seeing a lot of him. Also I have discovered that Uncle likes to listen to alternative music, which I heartily approve of. He said that he listens to pump-up music on the way to work, classical/focus music while at work, and emotional/decompressing music after work. I like the theory of it, but I imagine that I would get tired of the routine.
Uncle just said that we will soon be able to see the house! I'm very excited, as I have never seen it before.

It's massive! And rather like a compilation of conflicting interests. The main part of it looks like an old-fashioned country mansion, but there are newer areas that look like what you would expect of a space-age scientist. The grounds are beautiful. I love it. I have the strongest feeling that I will greatly enjoy living here. Of course, I wonder where my ship is, but I will wait to ask Uncle about that, until after I'm settled in.

The driveway is long, and it looks like someone has drawn on it with chalk.

[later]

I have been shown to my room, it is on the top floor, in the front-right corner, of the main house. Exactly where I was hoping it would be. It's very large, but blank and empty, aside from the plain four-poster-canopy-bed, and a desk. Uncle said that I can fix up the room however I like, and that even after I leave that it will remain 'my room'. I've already got some ideas going. I have my own bathroom too!
Although... I don't even know how long I'll be here, so I might not even get anything done, on the other hand, I might be here for quite some time, so I could end up making it pretty awesome.
Wait-up. Someone's knocking on my door.

It's Jakken, he brought me a snack. And said that help me if I needed it. His room is across the hall.

Now. back to unpacking! I'll say more in the next entry!

Day 1: My Arrival At Scorpius Laboratories

I am, at this present time, riding a public bus to Scorpius Laboratories, my Uncle's business. I am personally accompanied by my eldest sister, Fauna, and her pet German Shepherd, Grease. I think we make a wonderful picture, with her wavy red, fawn, and gold, hair pulled half-up, and her golden-brown eyes glaring at almost everything. And my lavender hair flowing loose with one tiny braid beside my face, and my aqua eyes doing no such glaring. Fauna just looked at what I wrote and laughed. I love her laugh, I think I'll miss it while I'm away. But I'm an adventurer, so I should think only of the road ahead - but I know that won't happen, because I am a little bit of a sentimental.
Public transit can be so noisy, but this time, it is oddly peaceful. Probably because there aren't many people on the bus.
We have just arrived in the city where Scorp Labs (as I shall fondly refer to it) is located. I haven't been here except once, many years ago...
In a few more minutes, I shall be in the place that I shall be calling home for a while.

Aha! The bus is pulling in! I must stop writing for now, but this will not be the end of this entry!

[Later]

I'm back! I am now waiting in the Break Room. The receptionist thought that it would be a better place for me to wait than in the lobby, and I quite agree with her!
As soon as Uncle comes for me, Fauna and Grease will be leaving to go back home. I don't really want to say goodbye, but I know it must be.
I plan to work hard and become a renowned adventurer, so that when I return home, I shall be more than when I left.

[Later]

Uncle came to fetch me, and Fauna and I said our goodbyes. Her eyes got teary, but I managed to keep a tight wrangle on my emotions, and neither of us cried.
I am now typing as I follow Uncle down some hallways. He is tall, and his hair is dark blue and cut close to his head, he is only 42 in earth years. He has a goatee that is also dark blue. His eyes are green.
Oh and an employee, with plain brown hair and eyes named Jakken, is helping carry my luggage .

"Where are we going, Uncle?" I ask
"To the garage of course, Luna, and then to my house." He replies
"I thought you lived here."
Uncle laughs and says, "No. although it often feels like it."

His laugh is nice. And here I must end this entry, for my notepad is low on battery.

Peace and safe travels!

Greetings!

To you: the people of the internet. From I: Luna Aquafall, the humble explorer of all things in time and space; greetings!

As of yet, I am not an explorer, but it is my destiny to be one, and who am I to thwart destiny. I am only now free to begin my said destiny, and fulfill my dreams, due to unforeseen circumstances which resulted in my being endowed with a magnificent means of travel. A spaceship, that had previously been mine Uncle's, but he, having acquired another means of travel, has gifted me with the ship "The Star's Cry". And so, I am even now en-route to my Uncle's home and place of business, to see the ship. I shall be living with my Uncle - Scorpius Scorpius - until I have sufficiently learned the ways of piloting ships, sailing the stars, and traveling between the planets and stations. For those of you who don't know, my Uncle is an Inventor/Scientist, and owner of Scorpius Laboratories. He has one son - Antares - and an adopted daughter: Shaula. His wife, Lesath, died a long time ago. I have not seen any of them in a long time, but I am excited for this new chapter in my life! I must leave off of writing for now.

I shall keep you updated on the happenings! Peace and safe travels!
